Picking a sheet

The right Christmas word search depends on who's holding the pencil. A first grader needs ten words that run only across and down. A grandparent wants big letters, which a 12 x 12 grid gives. The cousins at the end of the table want the Twelve Days of Christmas, backwards words and all.

Christmas word search: questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no sign-up, no ads, nothing to install.

Which sheet is best for a young child?

Christmas Words. It's a 10 x 10 grid with ten words that run only across and down, never backwards. Santa's Workshop is the next step up.

Can I print a Christmas word search in large print?

Yes. Print Christmas Morning: its 12 x 12 grid fills the width of the page, so the letters print much bigger than on a 15 x 15. In the maker, pick 10 x 10 or 12 x 12 for any list. For a whole book, Christmas Word Search prints 100 puzzles with 22 point letters.

Can I put my family's names in it?

Yes. Type them into the maker with any Christmas words you like. Names need at least three letters. If one name sits inside another, such as ANN inside JOANNE, the maker leaves the shorter one out and tells you why, because it would appear twice in the grid.

Does every word appear exactly once?

Yes. A separate checker confirms each word is in the grid once, exactly where the answer key says, before you see the puzzle.

Can I sell puzzles I make here?

Yes. Use them for anything: classrooms, newsletters, party games, or your own puzzle books for sale. You don't need to ask or pay. Free sheets keep one small line at the bottom of each page with our name and web address. A Pro version, coming later, will make sheets without that line and export a whole book at once.
